Abbazia di Novacella/Neustift monastery near Bressanone/Brixen

Abbazia di Novacella/Neustift monastery was founded in 1142 as an Augustinian abbey. The Romanesque collegiate church was baroqueised in 1742. It became an important centre for education and art due to its monastery school. The monastery is one of Tyrol’s oldest monasteries and the complex is one of the largest in the country.
